Dr. Bury’s research lies at the interface of nonlinear dynamics, data analysis and machine learning, with applications in biological and clinical systems. His current focus is on understanding and predicting cardiac arrhythmias in humans. He collaborates closely with experimentalists and clinicians to develop mathematical models and computational tools that provide insight into the dynamics of the heart and other physiological systems. More broadly, he is interested in identifying early warning signals of tipping points across complex systems, including ecosystems and other natural or engineered networks.
