Betul Senay-Aras research interests are in computational biology and scientific computing. Her research interests include using mathematical models to understand the interaction between mechanical and biochemical signals in cells and their effect on cell morphology in different systems. She currently works on modeling epithelial cells to understand the interaction between actin dependent dynamics in EPEC induced pedestals and the change in cell morphology. In another project, she aims to understand the mechanisms in the transcriptional regulation of stem cell homeostasis in shoot apical meristem in Arabidopsis using stochastic modeling approach. She is also involved in a project related to pollen tube in Arabidopsis to investigate the mechanisms behind oscillatory growth.
